Do you believe there are spirits in the forest?

Ancient spirit of the Wood. Eastern Oregon. The fire within. This wood block reminded me of a katchina, a nature spirit respected by the Pueblo peoples of the desert Southwest. The wood block was about 3 feet across. I added a background of ponderosa pine bark, and aspen colors like fire on the face of the katchina.

There are frog eyes in the Wood grain layer. The leafy green makes up the head and body of the frog.

Each moment can be a miracle if we can be present.
